Yes it hit very close to home since I'm White and the AP and the rest of a racist society choose to capitalize one race over another. The irony is that this is exactly what Black people are railing against. Good luck endearing White people to the cause when you try and marginalize a race with blanket assumptions. The AP doesn't get to rewrite the rules of grammar simply because they don't like something.
